It's one of those things where eventually in your career, it kind of switches from being the young up-and-comer to someone who has had results and the other person is trying to raise their level to play. I think it's a privilege.
I always say you can only change things from within. It's all about energy. If it's positive, then - even, like, somebody you don't like, saying hello to them one day just switches the conversation, and instead of being angry, I think it's good.
Elrond: His strength returns.
Gandalf: That wound will never fully heal. He will carry it the rest of his life.
Elrond: And yet, to have come so far, still bearing the Ring, the Hobbit has shown extraordinary resilience to its evil.
Gandalf: It is a burden he should never have had to bear. We can ask no more
of Frodo.
Elrond: Gandalf, the enemy is moving. Sauron's forces are massing in the East; his eye is fixed on Rivendell. And Saruman, you tell me, has betrayed us. Our list of allies grows thin.
Gandalf: His treachery runs deeper than you know. By foul craft, Saruman has crossed Orcs with goblin men. He's breeding an army in the caverns of Isengard.
An army that can move in sunlight and cover great distance at speed. Saruman is coming for the Ring.
Elrond: This evil cannot be concealed by the power of the Elves. We do not have the strength to withstand both Mordor and Isengard. Gandalf, the Ring cannot stay here. This evil belongs to all of Middle-Earth. They must decide now how to end it. The time of the Elves is
over, my people are leaving these shores. Who will you look to when we've gone? The Dwarves? They toil away in caverns, seeking riches. They care nothing for the troubles of others.
Gandalf: It is in Men that we must place our hope.
Elrond: Men? Men are weak. The Blood of Numenor is all but spent, its pride and dignity forgotten. It is because of Men
the Ring survives. I was there, Gandalf. I was there three thousand years ago. I was there the day the strength of Men failed.
Elrond: [scene switches to a flashback of Elrond and Isildur] Isildur, hurry, follow me.
Elrond: [voiceover] I led Isildur deep into the fires of Mount Doom, where the Ring was forged, the one place it could be destroyed.
Elrond: Cast it into the fire! Destroy it!
Isildur: No.
[walks away]
Elrond: Isildur!
[cuts back to present]
Elrond: Isildur kept the Ring. It should have ended that day, but evil was allowed to endure. There's no strength left in the world of Men. They're scattered, divided, leaderless.
Gandalf: There is one who could unite them. One who could reclaim the throne of Gondor.
Elrond: He turned from that path a long time ago. He has chosen exile.
[after Mann breaks Cooper's helmet and leaves him for dead]
Dr. Mann: I'm sorry. I can't watch you go through this. I'm sorry. I thought I could, but I can't. I'm here. I'm here for you. Just listen to my voice, Cooper. I'm right here. You're not alone.
Dr. Mann: [looking back] Do you see your children? It's okay, they're right there with you.
Dr. Mann: [turns to leave] Did Professor Brand tell you that poem before you left? Do you remember? "Do not go gentle... into that good night. Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
[Mann switches off his transmitter. Cooper chokes; Cooper manages to get his long-range transmitter reinstalled]
Cooper: [gasping] MURPH! HELP! HELP!
Cooper: Cooper? CASE! Go! Go!
Cooper: No... No air... ammonia...
Brand: Cooper, we're coming! Hang in there, don't talk! Try to breathe as little as possible, we're almost there!
[Chewbacca is fixing C-3PO]
C-3PO: Oh, yes, that's very good, I like that... Oh!
[the lights in his eyes go out]
C-3PO: Well, now, something's not right, because now I can't see!
[Chewie fiddles with something and his eyes turn back on]
C-3PO: Oh, oh, that's much better. Wait... wait. Oh, my! What have you done?
I'm BACKWARDS. You flea-bitten furball! Only an overgrown mop-head like you would be stupid enough to...
[Chewie switches 3PO off]
Tommy DeVito: [sitting in car with Henry] The only thing, is she won't go out with me alone, you know?
Henry Hill: No.
Tommy DeVito: No, what?
Henry Hill: No.
Tommy DeVito: No, what, Henry? Who the fuck asked you anything? I didn't even ask you anything, at least hear what I have to
say.
Henry Hill: Alright, what?
Tommy DeVito: Okay, what? She don't want to go out with Italians alone. She's prejudiced against Italians. Do you believe that? In this day and age? What the fuck is the world coming to? I can't believe this, prejudiced against Ital - a Jew broad - prejudiced against Italians. Anyway, she won't go out with me alone
unless her girlfriend comes with her, so I figured you could come along and go out with her girlfriend.
Henry Hill: See? I knew it - I knew it. I knew it. I knew it.
Tommy DeVito: You knew what, Henry? See? What? What the fuck is wrong with that?
Henry Hill: When is this?
Tommy DeVito: Tomorrow night.
Henry Hill: I can't tomorrow night, I gotta meet Tuddy.
Tommy DeVito: You could meet Tuddy. You could fucking come early and then still go.
Henry Hill: Tommy, Tommy. Why do you always do this to me?
Tommy DeVito: Don't give me that fucking "Tommy" shit. What the fuck I asked you for, Henry? I asked you
for a favor. I do a lot of fucking favors for you, don't I? I'm trying to bang this fucking broad, you wanna help me out!
[view switches to outside of car with view of restaurant, smoke billows from restaurant windows]
Tommy DeVito: It's like... uh... ah...
Henry Hill: What?
Tommy DeVito: I don't understand you! She's
fucking beautiful. Her fucking family, they live in the Five Towns there. You know these Jew broads got a lot of money. Maybe the family owns the whole fucking block. and you happen to end up with a big fucking score, motherfucker.
Henry Hill: [turning to look at the restaurant] Oh fuck!
Tommy DeVito: What?
Henry Hill: See?
With your fucking mouth!
[car speeds away]
Hattori Hanzo: What brings you to Okinawa?
The Bride: I'm here to see a man.
Hattori Hanzo: Oh yeah? You have a friend living in Okinawa?
The Bride: Not quite.
Hattori Hanzo: Not a friend?
The Bride: I've never met him.
Hattori Hanzo:
Never? Who is he, may I ask?
The Bride: Hattori Hanzo.
Hattori Hanzo: [Serious, switches to Japanese] What do you want with Hattori Hanzo?
The Bride: [Japanese] I need Japanese steel.
Hattori Hanzo: [Japanese] Why do you need Japanese steel?
The Bride: [Japanese] I have vermin to
kill.
Hattori Hanzo: [English] You must have big rats if you need Hattori Hanzo's steel.
The Bride: [English] ... Huge.
