If you go to talk to Disney about anything related to Mickey Mouse, if you can even get the meeting, you're going to get 50 people in that room. That is the crown jewel of their brand, and so they protect it. And so for better or worse, the crown jewel of my legacy still remains Steve Urkel and Stefan Urquelle.
It's amazing how you meet people through other people. I knew a racecar driver, Stefan Johansson, who was very hot. He introduced me to Jean Todt. He introduced me to a French doctor. He introduced me to a French architect who redid the Louvre with I.M. Pei. He introduced me to Daniel Boulud.
I am a very big 'Vampire Diaries' fan, and I was a huge Stefan and Elena fan. That love story was one of the most beautiful ones I had ever seen on screen. I loved it.
Maleficent: Before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel, and fall into a sleep like death! A sleep from which she will *never* awaken!
King Stefan: Maleficent, please don't do this, I'm begging you.
Maleficent: I like you begging. Do it again.
[Maleficent motions
for him to kneel]
Maleficent: [King Stefan kneels before Maleficent, his advisers looking on in disapproval]
King Stefan: I beg you.
Maleficent: All right.
Maleficent: The princess *can* be woken from her death sleep, but only by...
[Maleficent glares vindictively at Stefan]
Maleficent: True Love's Kiss!
[short pause]
Maleficent: This curse will last till the end of time! No power on Earth can change it!
Ivan Locke: Stefan is a good man. He will fix the pit and check the others. All 12 pumps will work. The stop-go will run. The north, south, east and west gates will all take their quarter of concrete. The baby will be born. And Katrina will be okay. In the morning she will be okay. That is how it can be. That is my prayer.
[after the fairies place the sleeping Aurora on the bed in the highest castle tower]
Fauna: [sadly] Poor King Stefan and the Queen.
Merryweather: They'll be heartbroken when they find out.
Flora: [wiping away a tear] They're not going to.
Merryweather: They aren't? But...
Flora:
We'll put them *all* to sleep, until Rose awakens.
Flora: [to Aurora, seating her before a mirror] And now dear, if you'll just sit here. This one last gift, dear child, for thee.
[she, Fauna, and Merryweather magically conjure up a crown]
Flora: The symbol of thy royalty.
[as she ceremoniously places the crown on Aurora's head]
Flora: A crown to wear in grace and
beauty; as is thy right, and royal duty.
[Aurora puts her head in her arms and weeps]
Fauna: [comfortingly] Now, dear...
Flora: Come. Let her have a few moments alone.
[they walk out]
Merryweather: It's that boy she met.
Fauna: Whatever are we going to do?
[back in the room, the
fire goes out and a hovering green flame appears; Aurora rises, entranced, and begins walking toward it to eerie music]
Merryweather: [irked] Ooh, I don't see why she has to marry any old... *prince*!
Fauna: Now, that's not for us to decide, dear.
[Aurora continues to follow the flame; a doorway appears in the fireplace]
Fauna: [to Flora] Maybe we *should* tell King Stefan about the boy.
Merryweather: Well, why don't we?
Flora: [listening at the door] Listen!
[gasps]
Flora: Maleficent! Rose!
[they rush in]
Flora, Fauna: Rose!
[they gasp, seeing Aurora step
through the doorway in the fireplace]
Fauna: Oh, why did we leave her alone? Rose!
Flora, Fauna, Merryweather: [they rush towards the doorway; it vanishes] Rose!
