Facebook is the first class of social networking. If MySpace is Camden Lock then Facebook is Harvey Nichols.
MySpace is just spam central. I mean, every day I just get mail inviting me to gigs that are nowhere near Los Angeles!
That MySpace is the story of the year. Everyone but my mother is on it.
People said, 'MySpace is going to rule and dominate all Internet; all young people will live on MySpace.' Well, along comes Facebook. And, obviously, all the innovation that Apple is doing.
Founded in August 2003, MySpace would go on to be the most-visited social networking site in the world from 2005 until early 2008.
When I worked with M.I.A., who was, like, the coolest person back then, she was just a girl I met on the Internet. Or even when I met Azealia Banks on Myspace, I never thought, 'Oh, she's cool.' I just loved what she was doing. So I've always been like that. And I think, as a producer, that's what you've gotta do.
It's not that MySpace lost and Facebook won. It's that MySpace won first, and Facebook won next. They'll go down in the same order.
Most adults I know start their Internet session at Google, and most kids I know start their Internet session at either Facebook or MySpace.
I go on Twitter and MySpace and I see all the love, and that's a big help.
