Lime juice makes things taste fresher. I use it for drinks, salsas, relishes, soups, and sauces. You want some give to your limes - firmness means the inside is dry - and they'll stay softer longer if you don't refrigerate them.
In the morning, raw foodists don't normally have breakfast. We have a lot of fluids. So I make all these different drinks which are quite strengthening.
Sleep is huge. That's your biggest way of recovering. In baseball, it's such a hard sleep schedule during the season, but you try to do the best you can. Because you can take all the protein drinks, you can do all these things, but your recovery is your sleep.
Throughout the course of the day, I'll have a GoMacro bar here and there, I'll have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I'll have another protein drink, I'll have at least two protein drinks on the golf course, at every six holes, and then after the round I'll have one.
I like serving family-style or setting up a buffet. Everyone just goes to town, scoops their own food, and mixes their own drinks. You know how people love to come and watch you in the kitchen now and talk your ear off? If you give them something to do and something to drink, they don't do that as much.
