I'd been at Chelsea for a while and progressed quite quickly until I got to the first team, and then it was different. I was used to playing every minute of every game, but when you get to that level, the step up is massive. There are world-class players in front of you, and no matter how talented you are, breaking in is difficult.

It's hard to keep training at your best, but I made sure I did for when the time came, or when I did get opportunities like at Palace.

The experience of being a Premier League player playing every week is just massive.

Every game means something, the supporters are fantastic, and since I've come to Palace, I've learnt to fight as a team and for the three points.

As long as I get an opportunity, with my ability, I can do well. My England debut was an opportunity for me to show that, and I was really happy with how I did.

A big side of football is reacting to what happens.

I believe that if you do all the right things, in time, you will get your opportunities.

It was tough mentally at Chelsea, obviously not getting the game time. I had to be really patient and have the mentality to still train right and do all the right things.

I'm confident in my ability, and I just try to enjoy myself when I play.

I'd say Eden Hazard is the best player I've trained with. But the best trainer has to be Frank Lampard. And John Terry, too. Their attitude to training. They train properly every day. They really stood out for me.

It's hard to compare the faith of Gareth Southgate and Roy Hodgson and my lack of chances at Chelsea because it's such a big club.

Managers are under pressure and maybe don't want to take a chance on a young player.

I've really enjoyed myself and the time I've had on the pitch, the opportunity to play for England.

I've trained with some top players at Chelsea, but sometimes training is not enough.

I really liked watching Thierry Henry and Zidane, especially Henry in his Arsenal days.

Zidane was just so majestic on the ball, relaxed. He oozed class, and I loved watching him. I remember France against Brazil in 2006. One of those game, I just couldn't believe the class of him.

I was 14, but it was on a thing called day release, so we took the day off school on a Wednesday to train and do school at Cobham, and at the end of the day, we got asked to train with the first team just because of numbers. There was a drill where it was like a 1v1 drill, and I got partnered with Drogba. I was going 1v1 with Drogba when I was 14.

Arsenal-Chelsea games can go either way. They are always competitive and physical and really good games technically.
