Ajihad: Which one of you is the Rider?
Eragon: [steps forward] I am. My name is Eragon.
Ajihad: I am Ajihad, leader of the Varden. If you are the Rider, then call your beast inside.
Eragon: [turns to the cave opening; talking to Saphira] Saphira, it's safe. Bring Arya, and be careful.
Arya: Eragon! You shouldn't have come.
Eragon: But in the woods...
Arya: Leave me here! Go, now!
Durza: It's far too late for that.
[laughs]
Durza: Forgive me if I stare, I knew you were young, but even then I was expecting someone a little more, well, more.
[Eragon
charges at Durza, only to have him disappear and then reappear down the hall. Durza uses magic to make weapons and rocks fly forward to hit Eragon]
Eragon: Brisingr!
Durza: A young magician, how quaint.
Durza: My king, Galbatorix. As you feared, the dragon has hatched, but to a mere farm boy.
King Galbatorix: To whom is not the issue. When the Varden learn that the legend is real, they will be encouraged to challenge me. And I am not interested in being challenged.
Durza: There is no one left for you to fear, my king.
King Galbatorix: [Looking at map] Beyond these borders are remnants of the resistance. Dwarves, Elves, the Varden. I can't let them have hope. Do not let them reach the Varden
Durza: I will find the boy, and kill him before he becomes a man.
Sergeant: Now where did a fool like you find such an appetizing string of jewels?
Brom: Interesting you should ask.
Sergeant: [Unsheathing sword and pointing it at Brom's throat] Is that right?
Brom: I was walking up the lane the other day admiring them sitting on the branch. Clap o' thunder, they fell off, dead at me feet. So I thought, 'oh,
well can't leave them there. Someone might trip.' So I hung 'em up there ou' of the way.
Sergeant: You know what I think?
Brom: What's that?
Sergeant: I think you're a thief.
Brom: [Looking hurt] Ooh.
Sergeant: A poacher.
Brom: Oh, no
Sergeant: I confiscate them all in the name of the king!
[Kicks out bucket Brom is sitting on]
