If today is your typical day in America, 80 of our fellow citizens will die from gunfire. In the last two weeks, more Americans have died from gunfire here at home in the United States than in the entire war in Iraq since it started.

Two subsequent incidents of import established CNN: the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986, which CNN was the only network to cover as it happened, and the 1991 Gulf War, which CNN chronicled round the clock from a proximity as irresistible as it was alarming, bomb blasts and gunfire lighting up TV screens from coast to coast.

Bruce Wayne: [about the prototype Batsuit] Tear resistant?
Lucius Fox: This sucker will stop a knife.
Bruce Wayne: Bulletproof?
Lucius Fox: Anything but a straight shot.
Bruce Wayne: Why didn't they put it into production?
Lucius Fox: Bean counters didn't think a

soldier's life was worth 300 grand. So, what's your interest in it, Mr. Wayne?
Bruce Wayne: I wanna borrow it. For, uh, spelunking.
Lucius Fox: Spelunking?
Bruce Wayne: Yeah, you know, cave diving.
Lucius Fox: You expecting to run into much gunfire in these caves?
Bruce Wayne:

Look, I'd rather Mr. Earle didn't know about me borrowing...
Lucius Fox: Mr. Wayne, the way I see it, all this stuff is yours anyway.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

Katniss Everdeen: I've decided I will be your Mockingjay, but I have... some conditions. Peeta and the other tributes, Johanna Mason and Annie Cresta, will be rescued at the earliest opportunity. If and when Peeta is liberated, he will receive a full and unconditional pardon, no punishment will be inflicted. And the same goes for the other tributes.
President Alma

Coin: [nods, considers the demand, but:] No.
Katniss Everdeen: It's not their fault. You be them in the arena. They're doing and saying whatever they can to survive.
President Alma Coin: Individuals don't make demands in 13. There will be a tribunal, and a fair judgment.
[coldly:]
President Alma Coin: Thank

you.
Katniss Everdeen: [adamant] The victors will be granted immunity, and you will announce that in front of the entire population of 13. You will hold yourself and your government responsible, or you will find another Mockingjay.
Plutarch Heavensbee: [pleased] That's it! That's her! Right there! Isn't that what I promised you? Now if she wears the

costume, gunfire in the background, a hint of smoke... Our Mockingjay. Madam President, we're losing ground because people are losing heart, this is worth the risk, she's worth the risk. Pardons, tribunals, power to the people, that can all be the bedrock for the new Panem, but with more time I think even the normal sub-causes can be bent a little bit, right?
President Alma

Coin: [swayed] Do you have any other conditions?
Katniss Everdeen: [consults her note] My sister gets to keep her cat.

[the SWAT team escorting Barnes reaches the moving sidewalk on the Annex Skywalk]
Chief Engineer Leslie Barnes: [on the phone with Trudeau] We're in the Annex Skywalk. I can see the array. I'll give you a call for protocol tests as soon as it's hot. That's all for now.
[hangs up; we hear Barnes give an instruction to the SWAT team's sergeant. At the other end of the

sidewalk, we see Sheldon set down his roller and start to reach for his gun]
Sergeant: Right, sir. You've got it.
[At the end of the sidewalk, O'Reilly presses the stop button that shuts down the walkway. All six of the men nearly lose their balance; he then turns his back to them]
Sergeant: What the hell's going on?
[to the worker at

the end of the sidewalk]
Sergeant: Hey! Put that back on!
[as they continue along the walkway, Mulkey and Shockley start to reach for their weapons]
Sergeant: Hey, asshole! Whadda I look like to you?
[O'Reilly turns around, holding a Glock 17 in his left hand]
O'Reilly: A sitting duck!
[He shoots the

Sergeant in the head, killing him instantly; he then dives for cover as the other officers return fire; McClane hears the gunfire from inside the ventilation shaft]
John McClane: Shit!
[He draws his Beretta 92FS and checks the slide]
John McClane: Damnit! I hate it when I'm right!
[He continues crawling along at a much faster speed]

[Jonathan trying to start the car as he hears gunfire break out]
Alex: Hurry up!
Jonathan: Come on, come on, come on!
[Johnathan turns the key and breaks it off]
Alex: You broke it, you broke it, you broke it!
Jonathan: Be quiet Alex! If there's going to be any hysterics, they'll come from me!

[last lines]
Butch Cassidy: Ready? OK, when we get outside and we get to the horses, whatever happens, just remember one thing... hey, wait a minute.
Sundance Kid: What?
Butch Cassidy: You didn't see Lefors out there, did you?
Sundance Kid: Lefors? No.
Butch Cassidy: Oh, good.

For a moment there I thought we were in trouble.
[They both run out of the building, only to be met with gunfire from all sides from the Bolivian army]
Bolivian police commander: ¡Fuego!
[a volley of shots is heard]
Bolivian police commander: ¡Fuego!
[another gun volley]

[after a burst of gunfire from the Mystery Woman, Jake climbs to his feet, covered in mud from the tunnel floor]
Jake: It's good to see you, sweetheart.
Mystery Woman: You contemptible pig! I remained celibate for you. I stood at the back of a cathedral, waiting, in celibacy, for you, with three hundred friends and relatives in attendance. My uncle

hired the best Romanian caterers in the state. To obtain the seven limousines for the wedding party, my father used up his last favor with Mad Pete Trullo. So for me, for my mother, my grandmother, my father, my uncle, and for the common good, I must now kill you, and your brother.
[Jake falls to his knees]
Jake: Oh, please, don't kill us! Please, please don't kill

us! You know I love you baby. I wouldn't leave ya. It wasn't my fault!
Mystery Woman: You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.
Jake: No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from

out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!
[Elwood covers his head in anticipation of more gunfire, Jake removes his sunglasses to make a wordless appeal, and the Mystery Woman visibly softens]
Mystery Woman: Oh, Jake... Jake, honey...
[Jake embraces the Mystery Woman and they

kiss]
Jake: [to Elwood] Let's go.
[He drops the Mystery Woman and walks off]
Elwood: [to the Mystery Woman as he steps past her] Take it easy.

Elwood: [the Mystery Woman sprays the tunnel with gunfire as Jake and Elwood dive for the ground] Who *is* that girl?
Mystery Woman: Well Jake, you look just fine down there, slithering in the mud like vermin.
Jake: [makes a reassuring gesture to Elwood] No problem.
