The wise man should restrain his senses like the crane and accomplish his purpose with due knowledge of his place, time and ability.

I worked with a man named Patty Crane who was Errol Flynn's stand-in back in the '30s in Hollywood.

I don't study films particularly. I plan to direct, but I'm not watching film - I watch the entire film to see how the story goes, but I don't say, 'Oh, so he does a slow pan here, or he pulls here, watch the crane shot, or look at the composition,' because it's got to be my eye.

Nothing prepares you for shooting in the sea. Some days the sea is choppy, some days the waves are long. When there is no wind, it's fantastic to shoot, but your brain is burning because of the heat. You are shooting hand-held and taking a crane on a boat, which is risky since you can get toppled over.

There's nothing worse than an ostentatious shot. Or some lighting that draws attention to itself, and you might go, 'Oh, wow, that's spectacular.' Or that spectacular shot, a big crane move, or something.

By the time I got to 'St Vincent,' I had shot so many scenarios I was ready for anything - I've shot kangaroos, I've shot dogs, cats, crowds, fight scenes, stunts, comedy, drama, handheld, dolly, helicopter, crane - I just felt that there was nothing I was unprepared for.

Batman: [taps the Bat-signal] Nice.
Jim Gordon: I couldn't find any mob bosses.
Batman: Well, Sergeant?
Jim Gordon: Oh, it's Lieutenant now. You really started something. Bent cops running scared, hope on the streets.
Batman: But?
Jim Gordon: We still haven't

picked up Crane or half the inmates of Arkham that he freed.
Batman: We will. We *can* bring Gotham back.
Jim Gordon: What about escalation?
Batman: Escalation?
Jim Gordon: We start carrying semi-automatics, they buy automatics. We start wearing Kevlar, they buy armor piercing rounds.

Batman: And?
Jim Gordon: And, you're wearing a mask. Jumping off rooftops. Now, take this guy.
[pulling out a file]
Jim Gordon: Armed robbery, double homicide, has a taste for the theatrical, like you. Leaves a calling card.
[shows Batman a plastic evidence bag containing a Joker card]
Batman:

I'll look into it.
[turns away and walks to the edge of the roof]
Jim Gordon: I never said thank you.
Batman: [looks back at Gordon] And you'll never have to.

Batman: Taste of your own medicine, doctor?
[gasses Crane with fear toxin]
Batman: What was your plan? Crane! Who are you working for?
Dr. Jonathan Crane: [terrified] ... Ra's. Ra's Al Ghul!
Batman: Ra's Al Ghul is dead. Who are you working for? Crane!
Dr. Jonathan Crane: Dr.

Crane isn't here right now, but if you'd like to make an appointment...

Milton Arbogast: Now, if this Marion Crane were here... you wouldn't be hiding her would you?
Norman Bates: No.
Milton Arbogast: Not even if she paid you?
Norman Bates: No.
Milton Arbogast: All right, then lets say for the sake of argument that she needed your help and that she made you

out to be a fool in helping her...
Norman Bates: Well, I'm not a fool. And I'm not capable of being fooled! Not even by a woman.

Monkey: At the first sign of trouble, I'll give you a signal. Ka-Ka! Kee-Kee!
Po: You mean like Crane does?
Monkey: Yeah.
Crane: Excuse me? When have I ever make that noise?
