I don't wish stardom on anyone. When I hear people say, 'this guy's a star,' I always say, 'good luck.'
I think when I was younger, I wanted to be a star, until I became a star, and then it's a lot of work. It's work to be a star. I don't enjoy the stardom part. I only enjoy the creative process.
I never feel insecure about my career because I believed that in some way or other, good things come to you. This might be the only reason that I never take pride in stardom or a celebrity status.
I'm definitely happy with the progression of my career. I'm glad I didn't jump to stardom immediately, because I get to enjoy the ride and the chase. Because nothing came easy, I really appreciate it when I book roles.
The notion of overnight stardom is really dangerous. For almost every person who has success in this business, there are years and years of hard work to get there. To have longevity, you really have to train, and you really have to work.
